Winter Wonderland

I know I already posted today, but here's an update. Cookie Exchange Cancelled. And HERE IS WHY:

Christmas Cookie Exchange

I'm going to a Christmas Cookie Exchange today. Yesterday was the perfect day for making cookies...six dozen to be exact...because we had a blizzard. So, Jake and I stayed inside all day and between naps I baked, frosted and packaged up all six dozen of these delicious sugar cookies.

I had to have six cookies per bag for a total of ten bags, plus another to put out for samples. I figured that I would make them really festive...

I'm really looking forward to seeing what other cookies I will get to bring home! Maybe I'll do a follow-up after the party. That is, if I'm not too busy eating cookies...

Little Boy Blue

My baby is turning into a little boy.

He is getting so curious.

He grumbles when he doesn't get what he wants.

And he DOES know what he wants.

He trys to get to the things he wants.

Oh boy...

Am I ready for this??

Nerd Alert

I am sitting here with a hot cup of tea and a piece of toast with blackberry jam. It's been a long day and I just need to unwind. I've got a load of laundry in the washer, and one in the dryer, and Jake is sleeping....for now.

Tonight I decided that I need to start implementing a bed time routine, for both Jake's benefit and my sanity. I think Jake needs to know what is coming. His nap times during the day are very consistant, and I feel that if his bedtime was that way it would go a lot smoother. I have been starting to lose patience in the middle of the night when he wakes up every hour or two and I hate that! I need to get back on the good mommy train. The lack of sleep really is getting to me, though.

In one week Jake is going to be 6 months. So unbelievable. We have our family and his 6 month pictures scheduled for next week with Becky. I am so excited! I hope Jake cooperates and that we can get some really awesome pictures of him - I need to start framing some and hanging them on the walls in our home.

OH, and by the way...I am officially a nerd! Last night, I went to take my glasses off before bed and only ONE HALF came off. They were completely broken in two. I have no idea how it happened. Any way, Eric definitely fixed them...with electrical tape. Yes, tape. I have glasses that are broken in two, but TAPED.BACK.TOGETHER.

Baby Blues

This is my favorite picture of Jake right now.

I'm going to have a hard time saying "no" when he looks at me with those big, gorgeous blue eyes. How many more hearts will he break? Mine's already in a million tiny little pieces!
